                         TIMM SURE (COYOTE) INTERVIEW

Hey Timm, thanks for the mix and looking forward to catching up with you since the last
interview with CITP. Your label, with partner Ampo, just started off then, how many
releases have you had now?

We have had 14 releases so far!

You've managed to get some great artists on the label, like Justin Robertson, Max Essa,
Phoreski and Aeroplane, and even scored some airtime on Radio One. Have you been
suprized at how well it is going?

Well we have had a few hiccups along the way but I am really pleased with the progress of the
label. We work hard at it and try and keep things fresh and interesting.

Justin Robertson is a bit of a underground balearic legend in the UK, even though he is
much more known for big club tunes since the mid to late nineties. Did you know him from
before or how did the track that he did for you come about?

Yeah I have known Justin for years. I first met him when he was doing Spice in Manchester
and our paths have crossed a few times over the years. He was a big influence on me as a dj
and his mixtapes from the Spice / Most Excellent days were legendary. We thought it would be
fitting to get to get him on board to remix as he was a pioneer of the balearic scene and he had
a new project called deadstock 33's and we picked up a track.

Your album "Harlyn Bay" from last year was great - must have felt good being able to get
that out?

Yeah it fulfilled a big ambition for both of us to produce and release an album that we were
pleased with.

How do you think Coyote and label progressed over the last couple of years?

We are constantly learning as producers there is a lot more we can yet! The label has really
grown up now releasing music by different artists and licensing tracks/ edits.

Are you still doing your night in Nottingham called "Tranquilo"?

No, that lasted 3 weeks !! Don't think Nottingham was ready to slow down hahaha
We are starting a new monthly night called Howl in May with guests like Lunar Jam,
Moonboots and the Acid Tree

Dig the little promo video you did for the latest Max Essa record - how did that come about?
More people should be doing stuff like that ...

That was done by a friend of mine who does stuff as well plastic. We just thought we'd do
something new as a way of promoting.

Are their any new "Is It Balearic" records on the horizon?

Loads of stuff coming. The Italian Connection ep ( Jose Manuel vs Mushrooms Project) with
Coyote and Max Essa on remixing duties then a Coyote ep with a Peter Visti remix. Then a
release from a new artist called giulliodj with remixes from Rayko Pena and the Project Club
as well as a compilation of Is It Balearic stuff chosen by Moonboots with two exclusive remixes
a reedit from Peter Visti more from Deadstock 33's and a special Max Essa 12

What makes you get out of bed in the morning and mission to make the next track or find
the next artist that you would like to put out on the label?

It's what keeps me sane and feeling young!!

Who would you still like to work with?

Too many too mention ...

Sly and Robbie would be cool haha

Psychedilic furs heaven
The Sutherland bros band
