Thanks for the ace mix, Mark! Please tell us a bit more about yourself - where are you
from, where did your passion for music come from and what was your earliest influences?
A lot of people think im a brummy, but in fact im from Wolverhampton, home of Wolverhampton
Wanderers, Banks's Bitter and Tony Di Bart. My interest in House can be blamed on my older
brother i guess, being too young to go clubbing, he used to describe to me his nights out at
Love Revolution in Birmingham, seeing djs like Tony Humphries & Frankie Knuckles week in
week out, plus the Dance Squad on Dance Energy of course.
Describe the musical experiences that first attracted you to the dance music scene?
Hmmm, going to Ibiza in 94 as a sprightly 17 year old, really was a turning point for me.
What DJs / producers are currently influencing you?
Obviously Theo Parrish and Henrik Schwarz, whom people kind of link my sound to, which is a
massive compliment, so i guess they both influence me heavily. Also love Glenn
Underground, Omar S, The Mole, Rondenians, all the detroit beatdown stuff, Carl Craig, Mizell
Bros, Basic Channel,Ron Trent but most of all, my friends and the people around me, Rob J,
the Jigsaw crew and my mate Daneby, all have amazing record collections and constantly
surprise me with new stuff.
You had some great releases on Running Back and Jisco Music last year. Have you got
any new releases in the pipeline that we should look out for?
Yes, a few this year:
- 3 bearz project
- A release with a well known NY club night, shhhhh!
- A 12" on Prins Thomas' internasjonal label, which will have a quiet village mix.
- Another running back.
