                                 TIMM SURE INTERVIEW

Hey Timm. Thanks for sharing your wonderful  selections. Where did your interest in
balearic music come from?

i'm not sure really-it was the sort of music i was into,it became known as balearic.it was also
called indie/dance for a while.just indie music on beans(e's).i think it really fell into place with
the balearic beats album, and also my djing partner at the time(laurie carter)had some mates
in manchester who were invoved with spice.

How long have you been DJing and producing and how did you get into it?

18years djing, producing properly for a few years now

What parties were you dancing at and what were your  feelings, were there any dj's who
stood out and made an impression on you?

justin robertson, greg fenton, graeme park,sasha-late 80's early 90's these were doing it for me
as a dj.most excellent, flying and venus were the best parties for a while

You named your label "Is it Balearic?" and a lot of  people argue that balearic music is only
the music that Alfredo played in Ibiza in the eighties.  What  makes something Balearic to
you  - is it also a  feeling, a way of life?

lots of people argue about whats balearic, that in itself is non-balearic...   yes it can be said that
balearic is only the music played by alfredo etc etc     but the original spirit in which different
genres of music that sound great played out of context or on  an e ,which alfredo (and
others)are credited for, lives on as "balearic"

its really just a vibe

who feels it knows it

For guys like you Balearic music has never gone away, but why do you think it has made a
come back (at least for some in the DJ crowd) ?

well i dont know really.some people have never stopped playing this sort of music, things
always seem to be cyclical(sp!)there is lots of new music around now that has a slower bpm-
that helps things feel more balearic .

It seems like a lot of the new Balearic style productions are also heavily influenced by Italo
music and the Cosmic sound of Italian DJs like Baldelli and Bebe Loda. Do you agree and
are those styles influencing your music?

yep definately, and there is some influence on our music

You've just a released a fantastic record with your  partner Ampo as Coyote on your own
label. What else  have you got in store for us?

hopefully we can get 4 eps out and then get the album out.ep 2 is on its way. its got an
amazing aeroplane remix on it...

You're based in Nottingham, in the UK, what's the scene there like at the moment and are
you involved with any parties?

not so hot really-we've started a night called Tranquillo its early days yet

What 5 records didn't make your mix, but should we go seek out to listen to?

jj cale- cherry
tranquillity bass-cantamilla
the clash-shepherds delight
coyote-bongo beach
deifenbach-make your mind up(lindstrom mix)

Bangers & mash or vegetable lasagne?

bangers and mash(and beans?)

Can you share your life philosophy?

you only live once

Is there anything else you would like to say as well?

thanks for taking an interest in us(coyote) and our label
